DeepSea G2 Embedded Vision System

TYZX’ DeepSea G2 Embedded Vision System (EVS) is a small embedded camera with low power requirements that delivers high performance visual analysis (up to 60 fps) in variable lighting conditions. Designed for widespread deployment in applications such as security and navigation, the DeepSea G2 EVS provides real-time 3D vision processing without the use of workstations. The DeepSea G2 EVS’s software development environment and TYZX SEER 3D Middleware enables product development teams to bring sophisticated vision products to market quickly.

High Performance through Hardware Integration

The TYZX DeepSea G2 EVS integrates the TYZX DeepSea stereo camera, TYZX’ own DeepSea 2 stereo image processing ASIC, an FPGA implementing new TYZX vision primitives, along with a DSP/Co-processor and an embedded PowerPC CPU running Linux. The DeepSea ASIC provides high-speed stereo correlation in a small package. It’s ready now for use in commercial applications such as aerospace and defense, automotive safety systems, person-tracking systems, and manufacturing.

The DeepSea G2 EVS transforms incoming imager data into easily utilized 3D object maps through vision primitives implemented directly in hardware, dramatically increasing system performance and freeing the embedded Linux CPU and DSP to host user applications.

The DeepSea G2 EVS represents the first implementation of 3D vision primitives in an embedded stereo camera solution. Essential facilities such as imager synchronization, exposure control and image rectification are all provided efficiently by hardware. DeepSea G2 EVS hardware also delivers convenient data representations such as ProjectionSpace™ representations of the 3D data. This keeps the frame rate fast and power dissipation low, while reserving the embedded Linux CPU and DSP free for user applications.The DeepSea G2 EVS is fully compatible with TYZX' SEER API, so applications developed on the SEER System can be easily moved to the DeepSea G2 EVS.
